‘A Harper’s Loom’ was commissioned by the Athenry School of Music and is dedicated to their harp ensemble and teachers Meabh McKenna and Anna Szombathy and director Katharine MacMaghnuis. Players are divided into four groups: the first three, Maple, Spruce and Walnut using harps tuned in E flat major, and the remaining group using harps in C major, notwithstanding the key signature of E flat from bar 79. Lever settings are indicated either by key signature or by black, stemless noteheads.
