Commissioned by the Chapel Choir of the Tower of London, and premiered in May 2018 in the Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula in the Tower of London, conducted by Colm Carey. The piece was one of five choral commissions by Irish composers, with each new work placed between the six movements of Hubert Parry’s Songs of Farewell. The event was also supported by the Contemporary Music Centre of Ireland, and was part of the shared remembrances by Ireland and Great Britain of the end of World War I.
