My newest publication is aimed at intermediate players who enjoy playing baroque music on the lever harp. It’s called The O’Farrell Collection Vol. 2: A Baroque Bouquet, and centres around works associated with J.S. Bach’s Anna Magdalena Notebook. It includes the famous Prelude no. 1 in C major which is a test piece for many harp exams. I’ve really enjoyed putting it together, as there are many pieces in the book which are published here for lever harp for the first time. I hope that players enjoy the changing harmonies in the pieces, even though it does involve a little lever changing. For me, that’s the whole point: the delightful harmonic colour you hear in the pieces when the music explores different keys. I’ve kept the versions as close as possible to their originals so that none of the chordal colour is lost.
